Last year I did a loft conversion and when it was close to finish, I decided that the old fashion staircase had to go. After spending over £50,000 on the loft, I decided it was a good idea to spend another 5000 extra on a custom ultra-modern staircase.
I had a look at examples by Silertreppen lovely examples. But then it was not difficult to convince my carpenter to help me build one with a lot of custom cut glass and HardWood to combine the functionality of stairs with artistic design and aesthetic beauty. I had already some quotations for handcrafted Italian made stairs with a reputation for excellence in Europe and the Americas - Unique Designs and Trusted Experience. But sadly they were way too much with quotes from £15,000 - £25,000
With advances in structural glass stairs, Obviously I had to do the design myself and ensure that all aspects of the fabrication did not need to be outsourced so to cut costs. Precision engineering and various other materials such as steel, stone and concrete were not used to keep costs down.
The end result was lovely at £5000. To be honest it was practically the same as the one at £15,000
